Senior Contracts Manager (construction) - Knysna2015-02-19

My client is looking for a Senior Contracts Manager to oversee all their works carried out:

  • Timber log homes 
  • Prefabricated panel systems for homes, housing estates & compounds
  • Timber frame building for all application
  • Conventional brick & mortar construction
  • Combination of the above
  • Hotels, resorts, lodges using all of the above
  • Bulk services relating to site works – Water treatment, Sewer treatment, Power systems, roads etc

 

We would require the following qualifications or abilities:

  • Tertiary qualification in construction or project management or even possibly Quantity surveyor with PM experience
  • At least 8 – 10 years of site & project management in construction related works
  • Some experience on larger commercial type projects would be an advantage
  • Availability to travel abroad periodically for short periods
  • Self driven and motivated
  • Confident in dealing with Clients and professionals
  • Broad scope knowledge of general construction works.
  • Team player
  • Problem solver & decision maker
  •  

Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Will report directly to Directors
  • Project planning & facilitation at all levels of construction related activities
  • Manage and oversee junior site managers & foreman
  • Co ordinate internal staff in arranging – Logistics with regards to personnel & materials for projects abroad.
  • Financial management of contract
  • Contractual management of projects
  • Management reporting on projects
  • Remuneration package is negotiable and will be dependent on applicant, experience & abilities but we would be looking at around the following;

    • Salary R30 – R40k per month cost to company
    • Car allowance + Fuel
    • Cell allowance
    • Relocation costs if applicable

    Leeuwenbosch Dairy Products, an expanding dairy production company in the Knysna area, is looking for a young man to undertake the maintenance of their fleet and factory equipment , as well as assist the production manager in his duties.

    Dairy Farm Manager - George2015-02-02

    Must have an agriculturral diploma or degree. Very experienced Dairy manager with more than 10 years as a dairy manager.

    Full control of 1000 cows in milk.  approximately 400 cows are milked 3 X times a day and rest are only milked X 2. Record all data on Alpro management system.

    The daily milking will be shared with another manager, so this person will only be responsible for 2 X milkings a day.

    Excellent knowledge of pasture management, AI (artificial insemination), feedlots, irrigation systems and Farm implements. 

    Good relationship with staff and managing them. speaking Xhosa would be advantageous.

    Must have good hands on Mechanical experience. 

    Raising of calves and management.  Excellent knowledge of illnesses and medication thereof. form part of the management team and provide budget feed back weekly.

    Must be prepared to live on the farm.  House provided.

    DUTIES:

    Stock control. placement of orders. Diesel count and reconciliations.

    Calculation of margin over feed. Analyse milk recordings. Ad hoc payments. Salaries and wages. VAT, PAYE, UIF etc monthly returns and submissions thereof. Preparation of management reports. preparation of meeting agendas.

    Procurement and sources of best prices for feed. supplier reconialitions and payment's.  Liaison person between the farms and the auditors, attorneys and banks. 

    Inter-company transfers, monthly reporting.

    Must know Pastel.
